D. Rodney Hathaway, CFA

Rodney has managed both a public mutual fund and private accounts for individuals and institutions since 2001.  He has been recognized as an astute contrarian investor that has demonstrated an ability to preserve client wealth during bear markets and added excess returns to portfolios during bull markets.  Rodney joined 1492 in 2008 and is the lead manager of the 1492 Small Cap Value Strategy where he employs fundamental techniques to identify undervalued stocks in the small cap universe.  This time tested approach to small cap stock selection offers investors superior capital appreciation with lower volatility due to the dividend component in the portfolio.

He began his career in 1992 as an investment professional in the U.S. and previously spent the 10 years from November 1997 through August 2007 with Heartland Advisors, Inc., a nationally recognized firm based in Milwaukee, WI.
